Cambridge Angels and Manchester Angels announce deal and expertise sharing partnership

Cambridge Angels and Manchester Angels are pleased to announce an informal agreement intended to foster collaboration between the two angel networks and their respective ecosystems, to support investment in technology, and tech-enabled healthcare businesses.

Specifically, the agreement focuses on 3 areas:

Deal flow - sharing of potential investment opportunities in the agreed focus areas of IP-rich technology and life sciences deals with a view to co-investing as angels in those opportunities.

Members’ events – members of each network will have the opportunity to join a range of events including dinners, educational events, and pitching events, to foster this collaboration and build networking opportunities between the two cities.

Best practice and experience - sharing of best practice in investment and ecosystem building to lower the barriers for success, irrespective of their demographic background.

David Levine, Principal of Manchester Angels said, “As a relatively new angel network, we’re excited to partner with Cambridge Angels to leverage their expertise in building out the region’s key early-stage investment organisation to support amazing founders disrupting large markets all over the world”.

We have already co-invested with Manchester Angels in Molymem and look forward to making more co-investments”.

Simon Thorpe, ex chair of Cambridge Angels and now sits on the board of Manchester Angels welcomed the partnership said “This partnership further cements the cross-UK innovation cluster recently announced between Cambridge and Manchester.
